ISLAMABAD – National Security Adviser Nasser Janjua has reiteratedPakistan’s strong commitment towards peace in Afghanistan and the region.He was talking to a delegation from European Union, including EU specialenvoy to Afghanistan Roland Kobia and EU Ambassador to Pakistan JeanFrancois Cautain in Islamabad on Monday.
The National Security Advisor highlighted the complexities of the perpetualconflict in Afghanistan and briefed on the role played by Pakistan to fightthe menace of terrorism.
He underscored that a cooperative framework is required to resolve conflictin Afghanistan and stressed the need for a political solution to theconflict.
He said that coercing Pakistan will be unhelpful and it will not take usanywhere.
The envoy expressed his commitment to advance European Union’s contributionto deliver lasting peace and prosperity in Afghanistan and in the region.
He also appreciated Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism and for regionalpeace and stability.
