ISLAMABAD – 1829 Islamic clerics from different schools of thoughts inPakistan have issued afatwa (decree) where they have declared suicideattacks as ‘haram’ or forbidden.
Details of the fatwa signed by 1829 clerics emerged on Monday. The rulingstates that those who commit suicide attacks, those who order such attacks,those who train such people are all considered rebels against the truespirit of Islam.
The fatwa further said Pakistan state has the right to act against peoplewho commit such act.
The news channel further reported: “It outlined clearly that the act ofwaging war and bloodshed in the name of Jihad can only be initiated by theState. Those who impose their viewpoints on by force are responsible forspreading mischief on earth (Fasad fil Arz).”
The fatwa also mentioned that armed conflict in the name of Islamic Law(Shariyat) is forbidden (Haram) in Pakistan.
The document, signed by the clerics from all schools of thought, will bepresented under the title Peghaam-e-Pakistan at a ceremony which will beheld at the Presidency on Tuesday.
