A senior official in Israel admitted this week that last week, before Hamas's sudden major attack, there were errors in their intelligence assessments.

According to the news agency AFP, Israel's National Security Adviser, Tzachi Hanegbi, during a press conference today, was questioned about the intelligence predictions before Hamas's attack, to which he responded, "It was my mistake, and it reflects the mistakes of all those (in intelligence) who were estimating."

He further stated, "We are convinced that Hamas learned a lesson from its last major war with Israel in 2021."

Regarding the Israel-Gaza conflict, China's senior diplomat Wang Yi had a telephone conversation with his American counterpart, Antony Blinken, this week.

Wang stated that Washington should play a "constructive and responsible role" in the Israel-Gaza conflict.

According to AFP, in a statement from China's Foreign Ministry, Wang told Blinken that the United States should actively promote a "reconstruction and responsible role" and move quickly toward a political settlement. Wang emphasized the importance of dealing with delicate international issues with truthfulness and transparency.

He called for maintaining peace, tolerance, and a leadership role in upholding international law. Wang also expressed the need for broader consensus on international security and called for an early international security conference.

Wang mentioned that the issue of Palestine involves the "two-state solution" in practical terms.
