In a statement on Saturday, Hezbollah, the militant organization in Lebanon, announced that it had used guided missiles and mortar shells to strike five Israeli outposts located in the disputed Shebaa Farms region along the Lebanese-Israeli border.
The attack, carried out by the well-armed Iranian-supported group, occurred at 3:15 p.m. (1215 GMT).
Prior to this announcement, a Reuters witness had observed intense shelling of Israeli outposts in the area, accompanied by the sound of gunfire.
