Zabiullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for Afghanistan's interim government, refuted Russia's claim about the establishment of US and UK intelligence bases in Afghanistan. He emphasized that Afghanistan should not be a battleground for the rivalries of other nations, urging them to keep their competitions outside Afghan borders.

He also made it clear that Afghanistan wouldn't permit its soil to be used against other countries.Mujahid's statement was in response to Alexander Bortnikov, the Director of the Russian Federal Security Service, who alleged that US and British intelligence services were contributing to instability in Afghanistan near the southern borders of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Bortnikov suggested that their activities aimed to colonize the CIS space and create divisions among member states.

Toreq Farhadi, a political analyst, suggested that Russia's statements were part of a propaganda war against the US, emphasizing that Afghanistan is an independent country with the freedom to engage with any nation it chooses.

Russia has previously accused the US of destabilizing Afghanistan and the region.
