ISLAMABAD – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken important decision over the new local bodies elections in Pakistan.
ECP on Wednesday has decided to start fresh delimitations across the country for local body elections.
According to the commission, the polls cannot be held on old delimitations after latest population census.
Balochistan will be considered at priority for the process while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) will be dealt in second round. However, in third step, delimitations in Punjab and Sindh will be started.
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government wants to introduce such a local bodies system which can resolve problems of masses at the grass-roots level.
