PESHAWAR (APP): The leading industrialists and politicians Monday said that commencement of trade activities from Gwadar Port under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would help revitalize the economy of the Pakistan besides further enhancing the country's image.

Faud Ishaq, former President KP Chamber of Commerce & Industry welcomed the launch of cargo trade and business activities through Gwadar Port and termed it a historic moment for the country.

"The presence of civil and military leadership along with foreign diplomats including Chinese Ambassador at Gwadar Port the other day at the launching ceremony at Gawadar has boosted the confidence of investors and more direct investment would come to the country in future," he added.

"I foresee an economic and industrial revolution in next 15 to 20 years in Pakistan because of CPEC under which industrial parks and economic zones on CPEC routes would be established that would completely change the economic outlook of our country," he said.

He said continuity of policies was imperative for economic stability and progress of the country, he said, adding political cohesion was required for successful implementation of CPEC.

Terming CPEC as a game changer for the economy of Pakistan, he said this project of immense importance will create huge economic and business opportunities for progress and prosperity in the region for the entire country especially for Balochistan and KP.

The CPEC would make Gwadar a hub of trade activities and help in eliminating poverty from this less developed area by creating many new jobs for local people, he maintained.

Sardar Aurganzaib Nalota, Parliamentary Secretary of PML(N) Nawaz said the inauguration of the shipment and business goods from Gwadar Port by the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif the other day was a historic day in the history of Pakistan that would usher a new era of progress and prosperity in our country.

Faud Ishaq also said that the start of first major trade cargo from Gwadar Port has emphasized our deep commitment to China's "One Belt-One Road" initiative, saying this enhanced economic cooperation between Islamabad and Beijing would bring immense economic prosperity and development for people of the entire region.

Nalota said bold economic policies of the government has improved Rupee against US $ and remained stable at Rs. 106 during the last three and half consecutive years as Pakistan economic outlook and foreign reserves has significantly improved.
