Pakistan pledges to enhance action on Climate Change

Pakistan has called for finalization of guidelines for implementation of Paris Agreement to address the impacts of Climate Change.

Addressing the annual Ministerial Conference in Katowice, Poland, Advisor to Prime Minister on Climate Change, Malik Amin Aslam said the guidelines should be based on the principles of equity, transparency and differentiated responsibilities for developed and developing countries.

The Advisor outlined the range of actions that the new government in Pakistan is taking to address the adverse impacts of climate change.

He reiterated the government’s intention to capitalize on the indigenous wind, solar and hydro energy potential as well as utilization of nuclear energy.
