WASHINGTON: Hundreds of activists rallied on Thursday in front of
Donald Trump's hotel in midtown New York City to condemn the Republican 2016 presidential candidate's call to bar
Muslims temporarily from entering the United States.
Chanting "Dump Trump" and "refugees welcome," the protesters castigated Trump's comments.
"We are not asking for any favors," said Linda Sarsour of the Arab American Association. "We are asking for the basic respect and dignity that we all deserve here in the United States of America."
The protest was organised by the 'Code Pink: Women for Peace' movement. Protesters held banners reading "Boycott Trump Tower," "Refugees welcome" and "Stop hatred against immigrants."
Hillary Clinton took aim at fellow White House hopeful
Donald Trump over his call to ban
Muslims from entering the United States, saying the joke had worn thin.
The frontrunner for the Democratic presidential nomination said Mr Trump had overstepped the mark with his latest comments, what he is saying now is not only shameful and wrong, it is dangerous.(Telegraph)
