LAHORE: The Pakistan Railways is connecting four provinces of the country for the first time in the history through a single train, Jaffar Express, from April 15.
Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique will welcome the rescheduled Jaffar Express train at Lahore Railway Station on Saturday.
According to the PR sources on Friday, the Train will become a symbol of unity as it will be the first-ever train of the country which will connect Balochistan, Sindh, Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The train route has been extended up to Peshawar in the new time table and now it will connect people of the four provinces from Quetta to Peshawar via Sibbi, Jacobabad, Sukkur, Rohri, Multan, Lahore and Rawalpindi.
Earlier, the train used to end its journey at Rawalpindi.
The PR is organising a special welcoming programme at Lahore Railway Station in which PR Police band would play tunes of national songs and children will present a cultural programme. (APP)
