Chairman PCB sacked the entire selection committee

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) took decisive action on Tuesday bydismissing the entire selection committee, a move prompted by the nationalteam’s below-par performance in the ICC World Cup 2023.

Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the PCB management committee, personallyousted Tauseef Ahmed, Wajahatullah Wasti, and Wasim Haider from their roles.

An imminent announcement regarding the formation of a new selectioncommittee is anticipated within the next two days. It is expected that thePCB will select the new chief selection committee from a pool of formercricketers, adding a fresh perspective to the decision-making process.

Notably, Inzamamul Haq and Morne Morkel had already resigned from theirpositions as chief selector and bowling coach. This restructuring comes aspart of broader changes within the cricketing management.

The meeting convened by Zaka Ashraf saw the participation of influentialformer cricketers, including Mohammad Hafeez, Sohail Tanvir, and Wahab Riaz.
