In today’s Asia Cup One Day International (ODI) match between Pakistan andSri Lanka, which is almost like a semi-final, is scheduled to be played inColombo. The match has been limited to 45 overs per side. Both teams havearrived at the stadium for the match.
It’s worth noting that Pakistan announced five changes to their team forthis crucial match against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup Super 4, last night.Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah have been replaced by Zaman Khan and MohammadWasim Junior. Zaman Khan will make his debut today in this one-day match.
Saud Shakeel, a left-handed batsman, has been included in the team for AghaSalman. Saud Shakeel has represented Pakistan in the One Day Internationalformat only a few times, where he has scored 76 runs in six matches with astrike rate of 71.02. In Colombo, observing the conditions favoring spin,Muhammad Nawaz has been included in the team instead of Faheem Ashraf,while Muhammad Haris will replace Fakhar Zaman in the lineup.
With both Pakistan and Sri Lanka having earned 2 points each from theirprevious 2 Super 4 matches, their encounter now effectively becomes asemi-final. The winner will face India in the final. If the match betweenSri Lanka and Pakistan is abandoned due to rain, Sri Lanka will qualify forthe final since they have a better net run rate (-0.200) compared toPakistan (-1.892).
