According to Sohail Siddiqui, there is a concern of gas shortage in Sindhfor limited hours due to a major breakdown in the electricity supply in theKund Passaki gas field, resulting in a significant reduction in gasproduction.
The provincial government has reconstituted the board of Sui Northern Gas.Gas supply to Karachi and Sindh from the gas field has decreased by 100MMCFD, with a 14% reduction in the gas received by Sohail Siddiqui.
He also mentioned that technical issues have caused a 20 MMCFD reduction ingas production in the Naimat Basal gas field. Sohail Siddiqui furtherstated that the Sui Southern system is also affected due to the significantreduction in gas supply, but gas load management will prioritize domesticconsumers.
