In a big news for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the Election Commission ofPakistan has allotted the symbol of Bat to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Underthe Public Representation Act, it is mandatory to submit details ofintra-party elections to the Election Commission. If the details ofintra-party elections are not submitted to the Election Commission, theelectoral symbol is not allocated.
Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the representative of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf,stated that all documents had been submitted to the Election Commission,and the delay was on their part. We have also regained the electoralsymbol, and the Election Commission will issue a detailed decision at anytime.
Barrister Gohar Ali Khan also tweeted on the social networking siteTwitter, stating that I have appeared as the Chief Election Commissioner ofPTI, and we have been given the electoral symbol.
It has been accepted by the Election Commission. A detailed decision willbe issued by the Election Commission. PTI’s lawyer also congratulated theirvoters. It should be noted that PTI had already submitted a responseregarding the intra-party elections. A hearing was held in the ElectionCommission regarding the case related to PTI’s intra-party elections, ledby Commission Member Nisar Durrani.
