PCB makes big announcement for the domestic players

The Pakistan Cricket Board has reiterated that the domestic players are notrequired to resign from their parent departments to obtain contracts forthe 2020-21 domestic season, which commences on 30 September with theNational T20 Cup.

The PCB is neither asking the players to resign nor to cancel existingcontracts with their departments if they are interested in securing playercontracts for the 2020-21 domestic season.

All the PCB is asking from the employed and contracted cricketers, inaccordance with applicable policies and SOPs, is for them to provide NoObjective Certificates (NOC) from their departments so that they can beoffered contracts for the 2020-21 domestic season. The issuance of suchNOCs as part of the normal course of business is not only a PCB requirementbut that of the departments as well and is, in fact, an established pastpractice.

“Once the relevant NOC has been issued by the player’s parent organizationand submitted to the PCB, the board will make payments in accordance withthe terms of the contract it has executed with the player,” the PCB said ina statement.

The PCB has already explained that an employed cricketer is eligible forthe 2020-21 domestic contract and the PCB will have no objection if theplayer’s parent organization also pays him during the term of the 2020-21domestic player contract.

An employed cricketer can be offered 2020-21 domestic contract providedthat the player has submitted the relevant NOC issued by his employer tothe PCB in accordance with the rules and regulations applicable to suchplayers.
