LAHORE – New developments have surfaced on the issue of the resignation ofthe Aitchison College Principal Michael Thomson.
He has reportedly withdrew his resignation.
He would continue with his work in the college, sources have revealed.
Mr Thomson had tendered his resignation on Wednesday allegedly underpressure from political circles for taking disciplinary action against somestudents.
Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar called Mr Thomson and held meetingat his office to convince him to withdraw his resignation. Mr Thomsonannounced taking back his resignation after meeting with the governor.
Mr Sarwar said the government believed in merit and admissions ineducational institutions should be made on merit-based criterion.
