In a landmark announcement today, the Prime Minister of the IslamicRepublic of Pakistan formally unveiled the creation of the *Pakistan ArmyRocket Force Command*, a new operational branch aimed at consolidatingcommand of guided rocket artillery and enhancing the nation’s stand-offstrike capabilities.

The new Rocket Force Command will oversee systems such as the Fatah-IIguided multiple-launch rocket system, which boasts a range of approximately400 kilometres, high-precision navigation, and advanced trajectory controlfeatures previously showcased during its successful training launch inmid-May 2024.

The Prime Minister highlighted that the establishment of this commandreflects Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to modernizing its conventionaldeterrence capabilities. The Fatah-II system, developed by GlobalIndustrial & Defence Solutions (GIDS) and inducted into artillerydivisions, significantly bolsters the Pakistan Army’s ability to engagedeep targets with precision and overcome missile defense countermeasures.

This new Rocket Force Command is the institutional embodiment of Pakistan’sevolving strategic doctrine and technological ambitions. It will streamlinecommand and control, enhance operational readiness, and ensure a focused,integrated use of rocket artillery assets.”

Defense analysts noted that this reorganization mirrors broader globaltrends, where specialized missile or rocket forces are tasked with rapidresponse and precision strike missions. They added that the consolidationunder a distinct command structure could yield improved training,maintenance, and deployment efficiencies.
