The fourth and the last generating unit of Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project has also been successfully synchronized with the National Grid today and started supplying electricity to the system on trial basis. During its trial run, this unit will be tested on various loads ranging up to 242 Megawatt.
According to a press release of WAPDA, Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project is expected to attain its installed generation capacity of 969 Mega Watt in couple of days.
Three units of Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project are already generating 726 Mega Watt of electricity. Since commissioning of its first unit in April 2018, they have contributed around 900 million units of electricity to the National Grid.
