KABUL – In Afghanistan, seventeen security personnel were killed by Talibanin coordinated assaults on checkpoints in western Farah province onSaturday.

According to provincial council member the militants also stole arms,ammunition, and military vehicles.

Separately, one security personnel was killed in a suicide bomb blast inLashkargah city in Helmand province.

No group has claimed responsibility for this attack.
