LAHORE – Responding to Pakistan goodwill gesture of releasing over 300Indian prisoners in Pakistani jails, New Delhi on Tuesday released 13Pakistani inmates who completed their jail terms.
The released prisoners, which included four fishermen who illegally enteredIndian waters, were handed over to Pakistani authorities at the WagahBorder.
Meanwhile, at least three of the prisoners released were detained in Indiafor overstaying their visas.
Travelling arrangements for the released fishermen from Lahore to Karachiwill be made by the Edhi Foundation.
The prisoners expressed gratitude over their release in the holy month ofRamazan.
