BAGHDAD – The Iraqi air force carried out a strike on an Islamic Stateposition inside Syria and destroyed a building used as a command andlogestic center by the group.

State television reported today that Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi orderedthe strike inside Syria.

Earlier, Iraq carried out air strikes in Syria with the approval of thePresident Bashar al-Asad and the U.S.-led coalition fighting Islamic State.
