LAHORE – Chinese embassy in Pakistan clarified on Saturday that the mediareports regarding involvement of its citizens in sales of human organs aregroundless.
The embassy in a statement said, both China and Pakistan adopt rule of lawand firmly oppose human trafficking and sales of human organs. The reportsabout sales of organs are misleading and groundless.
We notice that recently some unlawful matchmaking centers made illegalprofits from brokering cross-national marriages. Both Chinese and Pakistaniyouths are victims of these illegal agents. Chinese laws and regulationsstrictly prohibit cross-national matchmaking centers, the statement added.
It further said no individual is allowed to engage in any form of suchactivity by deception or for profit. The Chinese government also strictlyprohibits any organization or individual from buying or selling humanorgans in any form, or engaging in such activities. For those whoconstitute a crime, criminal responsibility shall be investigated inaccordance with the law.
China is cooperating with Pakistani law enforcement agencies to crack downon illegal matchmaking centers. We remind both Chinese and Pakistanicitizens to remain vigilant and not to be cheated. We also welcome valuableclues to combat such offenses. At the same time, it is hoped that reportsshould be based on the facts. We hope that the public do not believe inmisleading information and work together to safeguard China-Pakistanfriendship.
