Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday said that the environmental policies ofthe Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) government are being recognized globally.
According to the details, Prime Minister Imran Khan while sharing a videoby World Economic Forum in his tweet, said that
*Globally PTI’s environment policies are being recognised esp our greenrecovery programme from the Covid 19 pandemic and our Climate action plan.*
Back on February 12th this year, the World Economic Forum appreciated thatgreen recovery plan of PTI government under Imran Khan’s leadership toovercome the environmental crisis.
According to WEF, against this backdrop, the COVID-19 crisis provided anopportunity and Pakistan seized it to break out of the depression andreboot a stressed economy with a “Green Stimulus” focused on twoobjectives: protecting nature and creating green jobs.
The focal areas for intervention included planting more trees, expandingand reviving our protected areas and improving urban sanitation – all ofwhich could generate quick employment while also allowing the country tocome out of the crisis on a nature-positive pathway.
WEF also said that Pakistan carved out an opportunity amidst the crisis,through rebooting the economy with a green stimulus and putting its faithin diverse nature based financial instruments.
