NEW DWLHI – A minister of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wascaught on camera groping a junior minister on stage during Prime MinisterNarendra Modi’s election rally in the city of Agartala.

According to *India Today, *the video of Tripura minister Monoj Kanti Debadvancing his hand towards the waist of Social Welfare and Social EducationMinister Santana Chakma in an inappropriate manner went viral on socialmedia.

The young minister was seen quickly pushing away the BJP minister’s hand.

India’s abysmal record on sexual violence has been the focus ofinternational attention since 2012 gang-rape and murder of a student on aDelhi bus sparked nationwide protests.

The incident led to tougher sentences and reforms in the country’s rapelaws but sexual crime remains rampant. For vast numbers of women, liferemains grim — and with no access to Twitter to seek justice.
