ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court has rejected NAB appeal challenging theIslamabad High Court decision to grant bail to Sharif family in theAvenfield reference.
A five-member larger bench of the Supreme Court heard the NAB’s plea.
Upon the verdict in favour, the daughter of the former prime ministerMaryam Nawaz thanked the Allah Almighty.
She said, she is forever grateful to Allah Almighty and the Sharif familywill soon pass through these tested times.
In a tweet, Maryam said that is thankful to Allah for the verdict.

PML-N president, opposition leader in the parliament and former chiefminister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif also expressed his gratitude and thankedAllah Almighty on the SC decision.
On the other hand, Nawaz Sharif has also been informed of the courtdecision in Kot Lakhpat jail.
Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam and son-in-law Capt(retd) Safdar were released from jail in September after the IHC suspendedtheir sentences. They were sentenced by an accountability court in Julyafter being found guilty of corrupt practices related to the ownership offour luxury flats in central London.
The IHC’s division bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah and JusticeMiangul Hassan Aurangzeb allowed the petitions of the Sharif family membersagainst the accountability court s judgment in the Avenfield reference.
