Pakistan has recently made its debut in the global car market by exporting the first batch of 14 modern SUV vehicles to Kenya and Tanzania.
In this significant milestone, Pakistan joined the league of car-exporting nations through the collaboration of Pakistan and China in the form of the automotive joint venture Master Changan Motors. This marked the first instance of an auto company from Pakistan exporting SUV vehicles to foreign countries.
The auto company, Master Changan Motors, dispatched the initial 14 SUV vehicles to Kenya and Tanzania.
A noteworthy ceremony was organized in Karachi to celebrate this achievement, making it the first Pakistani-Chinese auto company to export vehicles to two foreign countries. Federal Secretary Industries and Production Asad Rehman was in attendance at the event.
Asad Rehman expressed that the government would request auto companies to lower car prices following a significant decrease in the value of the US dollar (USD). He mentioned that an auto firm had recently published a newspaper advertisement aiming to reduce vehicle prices.
In this move, the Pakistan-Chinese automotive joint venture Master Changan Motors sent the first shipment of its SUV model, Oshan X7, to Kenya, marking a promising development for Pakistan's entry into the global car market despite facing a severe economic crisis.
