ISLAMABAD - Pakistan has expressed grave concerns over growing incidents of firing and shelling by Indian forces on the Line of Control and Working Boundary targetting civilian population
Briefing Heads of Missions of the Permanent Members of the UN Security Council in Islamabad on Thursday.
Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua said these violations have resulted in martyrdom of 45 civilians and 155 injuries, including women and children this year.
She said Pakistan had displayed restraint but has been compelled to respond. She said
Indian actions are a serious threat for maintenance of regional peace and tranquility and may lead to a strategic miscalculation.
Director General Military Operations, on the occasion, made a comprehensive presentation on the current situation at the LoC and the Working Boundary.
The Heads of Mission of China, France, Russian Federation, UK and USA assured that they would convey Pakistan's concern to their respective capitals.
