MULTAN: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said ties between Pakistan and United States were improving with the passage of time, since Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) came into power.
He said now United States (US) should come out of "Do More" mantra.
He expressed these views at a ceremony hosted in his honour in UC-55 of NA-157, says a press release issued here on Monday evening.
Qureshi said relations between Pakistan and China would further strengthen during the current tenure of the incumbent government. Peace in the region was Pakistan's priority, the foreign minister said and added that it wanted to move forward with all other stakeholder countries in this regard.
He said dialogue was the only way forward for improving Indo-Pak ties, adding Pakistan wished peace in all countries including Yemen.
He lauded Saudi Arabia for announcing financial package for Pakistan.
The foreign minister said the PML-N government had made tall claims of country's progress, but when PTI reached the power corridors, the situation was vice versa.
The economy was fragile, he said and added that the past rulers plundered the country.
He said the team of Prime Minister Imran Khan had the potential to steer the country out of crises.
Parliamentary Secretary of finance ministry, Makhdoom Zain Hussain Qureshi also spoke.
PTI parliamentarians and local office bearers were prominent among those who attended the ceremony.
