ISLAMABAD - The Lahore High Court (LHC) registrar office dismissed on Wednesday model Ayyan Ali’s petition to cancel the arrest warrants against her in the money laundering case.
The LHC rejected Ali’s plea saying that the date for hearing the petition cannot be fixed as she is not in the country, local media reported.
On Tuesday, Advocate Aftab Ahmad Bajwa had filed a petition on behalf of his client, pleading the high court to dismiss a customs court decision of issuing perpetual arrest warrants against Ali. The model pleaded that she wanted to appear before the court to prove her innocence.
The customs court Judge Arshad Hussain Bhutta had also declared the model a proclaimed offender due to her continuous absence from appearing for the court proceedings.
During the previous hearing, the court had already issued non-bailable arrests warrants and had warned that Ali would be declared a proclaimed offender if she did not appear before the court.
