FAISALABAD: (APP) Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is collaborating with Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) for up gradation of 13 centres of excellence in Punjab including Government College of Technology, Faisalabad.
This was stated by Mr Kato, an expert of JICA on Monday while talking to Chaudhary Muhammad Nawaz, President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) to discuss the matters relating to the up-gradation and subsequent placement of its passed out graduates in local industry.
He said the JICA was actively involved in the overall uplift of Pakistan.
His team has focused on the up-gradation of technical education with a focus on mechanical trade.
He said that JICA team has already completed the task for the training of concerned teachers while it has also surveyed more than 200 industries to assess their needs for qualitative as well as quantitative improvement in its trained manpower.
President FCCI Chaudhary Muhammad Nawaz underlined the importance of technical education and said that being industrial hub of Pakistan, we need highly qualified and proficient manpower so that our exportable surplus could compete in international market.
He was thankful of the government of Japan and especially for JICA which was extending the best possible services to the people of Pakistan.
