PML-Q Mir Abdul Qadus Bazenjo elected as CM Balochistan with majority vote

QUETTA - PML-Q’s Mir Abdul Qadus Bizenjo has been elected as next Chief Minister of Balochistan .

During the voting at provincial assembly, Bazenjo got 41 votes. Three MPAs of National Party also voted for Bazenjo.

Manzoor Kakar of PashtukhuwaMap also voted for new elected Chief Minister.

While talking to Waqt News channel, reporter Watan Yar told the channel that Bazenjo was elected from Awaran, the area which is most unstable in Balochistan and considered as hub of insurgents.

Bazenjo has been advocating for end of insurgency and militancy in the province and has asked people to become of part of political system, the reporter further said.

Bazenjo has been winning as MPA from his constituency since 2002. He holds a Masters degree in English from University of Balochistan .

This comes after former CM Nawab Sanaullah Zehri link>as chief minister on Jan 9 before a no-trust motion could be taken against him.

On Friday, Bizenjo – who was a key player in the move resulting in ouster of Zehri – filed his nomination papers at assembly secretariat. Two other contenders – Absul Rehim Ziaratwal and Syed Liaquat Agah – both from the Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) also submitted their nomination papers.
