SC dismisses petition against PM in LNG import case

ISLAMABAD:Supreme Court of Pakistan has dismissed a petition against Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi challenging the establishment of LNG terminal and agreement with Qatar.

The petition was filed by Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad.

A three judge bench of apex court headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard the case in Islamabad today.

The Court observed that the petitioner can approach National Accountability Bureau.

During the course of proceedings, the Chief Justice observed that NAB is an independent institution and whatever complaints the petitioner has he can take them up with the NAB. He said we will not be interfering in such cases.

The Court also observed that is not within its jurisdiction.

On the other hand, the Supreme Court has adjourned hearing of suo moto case pertaining to difficulties for passengers in receiving luggage at airports till Saturday.

A three member bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar heard the case.

Next hearing of the case will be in Karachi registry.

The court has summoned Director General Civil Aviation Authority and Managing Director of Overseas Pakistanis Foundation on the next hearing.

During the proceedings today, the court said if the complaints are not addressed then court will proceed against the heads of concerned departments.APP
