ISLAMABAD: The Jamaat-e-Islami has threatened to stage a sit-in outside the Parliament House if the FATA was not merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa until December 31.
Earlier, the JI long march that started from Peshawar on December 10 concluded in Islamabad.
Addressing the participants, JI ameer Sirajul Haq said that the people should keep in mind the sit-in staged by Qazi Hussain Ahmed, which ended the government.
Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah also participated in the sit-in to express solidarity.
He said that it is unclear why the government is not merging the FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “We will get the FATA merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa before 2018. It is the last chance for the government,” he added.
JI leader Sahibzada Tariqullah said that they will bury the Frontier Crimes Regulations (FCR). “The prime minister should tell why the FATA Bill was excluded from the National Assembly agenda,” he added.
