DTH Licence by PEMRA in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (APP): Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) in its 116th meeting at PEMRA headquarters here on Friday approved extension in date of submission of applications for DTH licences to September 15, 2016.
The authority also approved the proposed timeframe for issuance of DTH licences, said a press release.
It was informed during the meeting that illegal Indian DTH was available in the Pakistani market. PEMRA ordered crackdown against the illegal DTH.
The authority approved mobile television licences for ITEL Services Private Limited, Lahore besides approving non-commercial FM Radio licences for Sindhi Language Authority, Hyderabad, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro and Traffic Police Multan.
PEMRA allowed landing rights to M/s Ironline Production Private Limited for Cinemachi Kids and also approved change of location of licensed area of FM Radio Station on application of M/s Salaar Engineering and Enterprises Private Limited Karachi.
The meeting was chaired by chairman PEMRA Absar Alam and attended by Secretary Information and Broadcasting Saba Mohsin, Secretary Interior Arif Ahmed Khan, Chairman PTA Dr Ismail Shah, Shaheen Habibullah (member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) and Nargis Nasir (member Punjab).
