RAWALPINDI – The Corps Commanders’ Conference has pledged to safeguardagainst all external threats while consolidating gains of counter-terrorismmilitary operations, which have put security situation of the country onpositive trajectory for socio-economic progress and development.
The pledge was made at 216th Corps Commanders’ Conference, presided Chiefof Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, in Rawalpindi on Thursday.
The forum highlighted importance of regional approach to eliminate roots ofterrorism and attached hopes for success of ongoing Afghan reconciliationprocess while supporting all stakeholders to bring Afghan war to a peacefullogical conclusion.
Speaking at the conference, the Army Chief said we shall continue tosupport all state institutions for peace, stability and progress of thecountry in best interest of the people of Pakistan.
The Corps Commanders Conference reviewed geo-strategic environment withspecial focus on regional security and situation on eastern and westernborders including Line of Control.
Progress of ongoing stability operations for internal security was alsodiscussed.
