KARACHI – The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has issued instructions over thefake bank frauds calls.
SBP has advised people not to share personal information like CNIC number,bank account number, password, etc. on fake calls from individualsimpersonating as officials of SBP.
“Public is advised to inform such incident to law enforcement agencies andapproach their banks immediately in case of anyloss arising due to leakage of personal information,” the SBP stated in apress release on Tuesday.

It has been noticed that time and again fraudsters make phone calls toindividuals, impersonating as officials of SBP or other agencies, seekingpersonal information regarding their deposit accounts maintained withcommercial banks and threatening that their accounts will be closed orfrozen in case of non-verification of their credentials.
