Frustrated India plans restrictions against Turkey and Malaysia for supporting Pakistan over Occupied Kashmir

NEW DELHI – India is considering restricting imports of some products fromMalaysia including palm oil in reaction to its stance on Kashmir dispute.

The Indian government was angered after Malaysian Prime Minister, MahathirMohamad said at the United Nations last month that India had invadedoccupied Kashmir and asked New Delhi to work with Pakistan to resolve theKashmir dispute.

Indian media quoted officials, who participated in discussions led by theMinistry of Commerce and Industry on the proposed restrictions, saying thatIndia was looking for ways to limit palm oil imports and might placerestrictions on other goods from Malaysia.

Officials also said that Indian government is also planning somerestrictions on imports from Turkey, as Ankara had issued repeatedstatements on Kashmir.
