LONDON – The Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR)Major General Asif Ghafoor breaks silence over the issue of accountabilityprocess in Pakistan and the role of Pakistan Army.

He has said that Pakistan Army has no role in the process of accountabilityand drive against corruption.

“We have our hands full on the eastern and western border; the army ishaving to maintain the security of the country. Army has its own stringentmechanism of accountability and it’s the most robust and toughest. Ithappens at various levels and no one is above accountability,” he said.

He emphasised that Army believes only democracy is the way forward and asan institution, Pakistan Army has provided full support to democraticinstitutions.
