The Counter Terrorism Department of Balochistan on Wednesday killed GhulamDin alias Shoaib, a leader of banned Daesh in an intelligence-basedoperation in the Mastung area of the province.
An official of the CTD said that the operation was planned after thedepartment had received information that Shoaib was set to arrive inMastung to carry out some terrorist activity.
During the operation, he was asked to surrender but he started firing atthe CTD in an attempt to flee the scene. However, the security forcesengaged him in a fire exchange resulting in the killing of the terrorist,he added.
Shoaib was one of the leaders of the outlawed Daesh Balochistan chapter. Hejoined the organisation in 2015 after getting his training in Waziristanfrom the outlawed TTP platform.
He had been involved in multiple terrorist activities including suicidebomb attacks on JUI-F’s Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Hayderi in Mastung, lawyersin Quetta in 2016 and multiple target killings of police and leviesofficials.
He was also involved in the suicide bomb attack on JI Chief Siraj ul Haq,the killing of Hazara coal labourers at Mach, multiple attacks on Sibi Melaand attacks on Quetta police.
