Huge accusations leveled aginst President Arif Alvi

Ashtar Ausaf, the former attorney general, expressed his concern over theletter sent by President Arif Alvi to the Election Commission of Pakistan, emphasizing that it could have severe repercussions for the nation.

He voiced his worries during an interview with Asma Shirazi on Faisla AapKa, stating, “This action could deter potential investments in the stockexchange. Given our existing economic uncertainties, the President’s moveappears to be steering us further towards political instability.”

It’s worth noting that President Alvi proposed holding the country’selections on November 6, although he acknowledged that he may not have theauthority to make such an announcement and suggested seeking guidance fromthe Supreme Court of Pakistan. Ausaf drew parallels between the President’sletter and his tweet regarding the assent to the Official Secret Act 2023and Army Act 2023, suggesting a pattern of actions.

In Ausaf’s view, the President’s letter was issued under the influence offormer Prime Minister Imran Khan with the intention of sowing politicalinstability.

He argued, “The objective is to create an environment in which theupcoming elections are mired in controversy. This amounts to pre-electionmanipulation.” Former Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar added that variouspolitical parties have been involved in efforts to postpone the elections.

He asserted, “Political parties are prolonging the electoral process out offear of facing the electorate.”

“They [political parties] are delaying elections because they are afraid offacing the people. They want time so that their opponent becomes weaker andhis hardships are increased,” he added.
