Former Federal Information Minister Muhammad Ali Durrani has made anoteworthy assertion, claiming that both President Dr. Arif Alvi and formerPrime Minister Shehbaz Sharif share a similar “positive stance” – neitherof them desires a confrontation with the military establishment. In anexclusive conversation with ARY News, Durrani recollected his encounterwith PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif during his time in jail, during whichhe advised against “picking a fight with the military establishment.”

According to Durrani, Shehbaz Sharif explained that he was bound by hisparty leadership, and he observed that both Shehbaz Sharif and PresidentAlvi held a ‘similar positive stance’ on this matter.

Durrani went on to describe a conversation he had with PML-N supremo NawazSharif, emphasizing that the PTI chief would not be ousted if the conflictwas directed at the wrong target, likening it to hitting the ball at theumpire’s head rather than the intended target. He emphasized that it isultimately the people of the country who have the power to decide apolitician’s fate.

Regarding the political landscape, Durrani stated that it improvedfollowing his meetings with President Dr. Arif Alvi and Chief of Army Staff(COAS) General Asim Munir. He claimed to have an insight into the PTIchief’s actions, expressing his belief that a level playing field would notbe entered unless there were expectations of positive outcomes.

Before meeting President Dr. Arif Alvi, Durrani revealed that he hadengaged with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders who remained committedto the party and expressed a desire for reconciliation. He contrasted themwith those who had left the party, suggesting that the latter soughtconflict.

Furthermore, Ali Durrani announced his intention to revealconfidence-building measures (CBMs) on Friday, which he believes willrepresent the interests of those who remain part of PTI and are currentlyfacing a crisis.
