After India’s win in the Asia Cup Super Four stage, Pakistan’s position inthe International Cricket Council (ICC) One-Day Rankings has not effectedhowever another defeat from Srilanka on Thursday will put Pakistan furtherdown to No 3 position.
Following their loss to India in the match played in Colombo yesterday, thenational team has suffered a one-point loss in the ICC Rankings. There isnow a three-point difference in the rankings between Pakistan and Australia.
The national team had the golden opportunity to become the world number oneagain by winning against India, but now, reaching the top spot has becomemore challenging. Australia is currently ranked first in the ICC Rankings,Pakistan second, and India third.
India has beaten Sri Lanka in the Super Four stage today and Pakistan losesto Sri Lanka on September 14th, then India will move up to the secondposition in the global rankings. Consequently, Pakistan will slip evenfurther from the second position.
