Israel mulls launching military operations any moment

TEL AVIV – Israel can begin a military operation in Gaza Strip at anymoment, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the Israeli PublicBroadcasting Corporation on Friday.

Tensions on the border with Gaza spiked last Friday after yet another onein the series of the March of Return protests.

They were further fanned by Netanyahu’s statement that he would like toextend the Israeli sovereignty to the Jordan Valley if he wins the upcomingparliamentary election.

“This could happen at any moment,” the prime minister said.
