ISLAMABAD – Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz have been shifted to Adiala Jailin Rwalpindi after the orders of the Accountability Court Judge MohammadBashir.
They were taken to Adiala jail direct from New Islamabad Airport.
They were earlier boarded onto a small chartered plane bound for IslamabadInternational Airport (IIA).
The flight landed in Islamabad around 10:30pm.
Earlier Islamabad chief commissioner issued a notification declaring SihalaPolice Training College Rest House in the capital “as sub-jail for keepingthe convicted prisoner Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, ex-prime minister, andMs. Mariam Nawaz, who have been arrested by NAB authorities, with immediateeffect and till further orders.”
Meanwhile, a NAB prosecution team approached the accountability courtsseeking an exemption for Nawaz and Maryam’s appearance before the court.NAB Additional Deputy Prosecutor General Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi told thecourt that the convicts cannot be produced before the court due to a highsecurity risk.
The accountability court subsequently appointed Magistrate Wasim Ahmed toexecute the warrants in Sihala rest house, which has been declared anextension of Adiala Jail.
By this exercise, authorities have eliminated any chance of producing Nawazand Maryam before the court tonight or in the morning. The magistrate willexecute the warrants of imprisonment at the sub-jail.
