TEHRAN – Iran will begin uranium enrichment at its Fordow plant and willinstall new nuclear equipment at its Natanz facility if it withdraws from anuclear deal with major powers.
The spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran Behrouz Kamalvandisaid in an interview published today (Wednesday).
He said that new work would begin on the nuclear program on the orders ofSupreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He did not specify what kind of newequipment might be installed at Natanz.
Kamalvandi accused the United States and other Western countries ofapplying double standards by opposing Iran’s nuclear program, which he saidis purely peaceful.
He said that currently the Supreme Leader has ordered that the programs becarried out within the parameters of the nuclear deal.
