The FIA link counter-terrorism unit onWednesday arrested 12 trollers linkin running smear campaign linksensitive institutions link andimportant personalities.
In a joint crackdown launched by the FIAlink counter-terrorismdepartment and its cyber wing, the agency apprehended as many as a dozentrollers link who were linked to runninga slur campaign link against the stateinstitutions link.
However, the FIA link counter-terrorism winghas sought legal opinion regarding registration of cases against thearrested persons who were found involved in hate trolling against sensitiveinstitutions link.
The FIA link was provided with lists of 50people who were operating hundreds of fake social media accounts. Fromthese fake accounts, trolling against sensitive institutionslink and important personalities wasbeing done.

FIA link sources informed that some accountswere being operated from abroad. So far 12 trollerslink have been arrested from Lahore,Gujrat, Faisalabad and Islamabad, they added.
Sources said that cases would be registered under anti-terrorism clauses.
