Pakistan aviation industry gets a prestigious international recognition

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has become an IATA certified country for itsground-handling operations in the aviation industry as Gerry’s dnata is thefirst ground services provider to be awarded the prestigious safety statusin Pakistan.

The company has achieved IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO)Registration in Pakistan and obtained ISAGO Station Accreditation atKarachi International Airport following successful completion of ISAGOaudits.

Since then, the joint venture has continually expanded itsoperations in the country and today serves 11 airline customers at sevenPakistani airports. Gerry’s dnata’s 2,500 dedicated employees assist over4.5 million passengers and handle 130,000 tons of cargo annually.

ISAGO is an industry global standard for the oversight and audit of groundservice providers. It is complementary to the internationally recognizedand accepted IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) designed to assess theoperational management and control systems of an air operator. Theimplementation of the ISAGO aims to address the safety risks and incidentcosts of ground operations.
