Pakistan gets a big offer from Canada

*KARACHI: As business environment in Pakistan is becoming favorable day byday, Canadian government and the private sector have offered big investmentopportunities in the South Asian giant.*

Last year, the bilateral trade figured 1.4 billion dollars, which waspreviously standing at only 400 million dollars. This figure can befurther increased to five billion dollars in next five years by takingpromotional steps on both the sides, said Canada’s former minister forresearch, innovation and science, Dr. Reza Moridi while talking to media atthe Gong ceremony at Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).

He shared that Pakistan consists of more than 200 million consumers and isdeemed as an emerging potential economy and a big market. “Canadiangovernment and many other private firms, including infrastructure, energy,information and communication technology, are interested to promotebilateral trade and investment in Pakistan,” Moridi said.

“We want to bring two nations together by increasing interaction at thegovernments and private sectors level,” he asserted.

Dr. Reza Moridi is jointly supervising the Canada Pakistan Business Counciland ICT 20-member delegation from Canada on their visit to Pakistan.

PSX’s Chief Executive Officer, Richard Morin welcomed the delegation andassured all kind of cooperation and support to Canadian companies, onbehalf of PSX.
