LAHORE – Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police on Wednesday havearrested two hardcore terrorists in an in intelligence-based operation inGujranwala.

According to the CTD spokesman in Lahore, the arrested persons belong to abanned extremist organization and were planning to carry out terroristattacks on sensitive installations in the city.

A heavy cache of arms, ammunition and explosive were recovered from them.

The arrested terrorists were shifted to an undisclosed location for furtherinvestigation.

The law enforcement agencies have launched a crackdown against bannedoutfits under the National Action Plan (NAP). The action against bannedoutfits is said to be in line with the decisions made during a meeting ofthe National Security Committee (NSC) in January this year.
