PLS 3: Islamabad United faces setback

ISLAMABAD – Islamabad United faces setback as star player *Rumman Raees hasbeen injured and will not be available for selection* for rest of the PSLmatches.

The 26-year-old left armer fell at the boundary while fielding duringIslamabad’s match against Quetta Gladiators in Sharjah on February 28 andsince then had not played any part in the league.

He suffered knee injury and team physio Errol Alcott issued the latestupdate.

“Rumman has been officially ruled out from the remaining PSL tournamentlast evening. Errol Alcott, the Islamabad United physio has been indiscussion with the knee specialist who has reviewed Rumman here at SaudiGerman Hospital, and they’ve concluded that while he has improved a lot,his knee is not holding upto the heavy load on landing impact on the kneewhilst bowling and that he should take a rest to recover completely,” saida release.

“It is important to Islamabad United that the general well being of itsplayers and their future success in their cricket endeavours is maintained, so while we are disappointed for Rumman in not being with us for theremainder of the PSL 3 tournament , we know getting him to rest is theright thing to do. We wish him the best of luck for the rest of 2018.”

Rumman is an integral part of Pakistan’s national team also and hence norsik would be taken on him.

Islamabad faces Multan in their eighth match in the league in Sharjah onTuesday. They are currently at second place in the table with ten points,as is Quetta who are at the top due to a better net run rate.
